GEN takes its name from the Japanese character 玄, read gen—a character that evokes depth, mystery and darkness. Dark natural wood surrounds an open-worked dial where the mechanics of time become part of the design.

It is perfect as a first proper mechanical watch!
Rather than simply checking the time, I enjoy watching the gears move. Even during the humid summer, the wooden band does not feel sticky and remains completely comfortable to wear. Very nice!!

I had always thought mechanical watches were too expensive for me, but thanks to GEN being offered at the remarkable price of JPY 19,800, I was able to own the mechanical watch I had admired.
It loses around 15 seconds a day, but considering the price, I think the accuracy is quite good. I do wish it gained time rather than losing it.
The crystal appeared to be glass, so to avoid scratches I fitted a 30 mm protective film designed for watch crystals. I hope to enjoy it for many years. Thank you for this wonderful product.
The design is beautiful, of course, but perhaps because it is made with natural wood, it is also a watch that quickly develops a real sense of attachment.

An automatic mechanical watch may stop after it has been left unworn. Set the time again and resume wearing it to return the movement to operation.
The wood has a protective coating and can handle normal perspiration. Because it is a natural material, avoid rain, sinks, showers, swimming and submerging the watch in water.
Yes. The bracelet is approximately 24.5 cm at its longest and can be shortened to suit a smaller wrist.
